About WWIC Radio

Real Country 1050-AM WWIC is Jackson County Alabama's first radio station, having signed on the air June 13, 1950.

The station is located at 1050 khz on the AM dial and broadcasts 24 hours a day.  WWIC is located at 815 West Willow Street  in Scottsboro Alabama.

WWIC's programming spans a large audience group, ranging in age from 18 to 60 and beyond.  Our mixture of modern and traditional country along with our large variety of information and sports programming adds new listeners to WWIC every day.

For more than 45 years, WWIC listeners have tuned in for the LIVE call-in program "Partyline".  This one hour program allows listeners to phone the station with items for sale, to buy, swap, and announce garage sales or community events.  The "Birthday and Anniversary Club" is another listener favorite as we salute area birthday celebrities.  Both programs attract a wide listening audience.

WWIC's news coverage is one of the reasons radio listeners in Jackson County make us the station they depend on.  With hour news reports and live coverage of breaking news events.  WWIC also features live severe weather coverage from Dan Satterfield and the Doppler 19 Forecast Center at WHNT-TV 19 in Huntsville.

WWIC's sports coverage is also tops in Scottsboro with LIVE coverage of the high school's football and basketball games.  We also feature coverage of the Crimson Tide Sports Network with play-by-play action of Alabama football, men's and women's basketball and baseball plus the weekly "Hey Coach" call in show, Major League Baseball with the Atlanta Braves and NFL Football with coverage of the Tennessee Titans.

In addition, WWIC's programming is featured on the Scottsboro Cable System (Channel 2) and the Cumberland Mountain Cable System (Channel 27) with over 10,000 subscribers.

Our promotion calender ranges from the yearly "Radio Bingo" and "Pumpkin Hunt" to giveaways of concert tickets, country music items and vacations.
