Join Roger Allen weekdays 10:00am-3:00pm
on Real Country 1050-AM WWIC

I was born in Fort Payne
Alabama in 1965. My dad drove a truck and I was introduced to music at a very
early age. I woke up to music when my dad would come home off of a trip and
when he was not on the road he introduced me to Merle, George, Loretta, Gene,
and all of the country legends. When I was six I heard a man on a Fort Payne
radio station and I was hooked. I was really hooked on being a radio DJ the
first time I met one of the DJ's at Bargain Town, I thought it was so cool
that people knew who that person on the radio was.
As I grew up I continued to
dream of being on the radio and at fifteen I was shown how to be a radio DJ
and how to run the board and the rest is radio history.
I play many musical instruments
and have perfect pitch. My parents wanted me to go to college and find a job
working somewhere in the music field. On graduating high school in 1984 I put
up the music forever and it's been me and my head phones since then.
I have enjoyed almost thirty
years on the air and feel good about working at WWIC playing the country music
legends.
I have met many of the legends
that I enjoy playing and those that I haven't met I have plans to meet
hopefully in the future.
My favorite artists that I am
huge fans of include Merle Haggard, George Jones, Charlie Louvin, Ray Price,
and my list goes on and on.
I enjoy studying about the
music that I play and finding out new information to pass along to my
audience. In my spare time I enjoy music and studying on the internet.
I have been on the radio in
many places but their is no place like North Alabama.

Lots more pictures to come.
