The Partyline theme song is "The Happy Whistler" performed by Don Robertson.  The instrumental reached number 9 in 1956.

The song contains one melody line, roughly 20 bars long, that's repeated five or six times.  There's a snare drum too - at the end.

As far as we know, "The Happy Whistler" has been used as the Partyline theme song since the program began in 1955 or 1956.

Partyline is believed to be one of the longest, if not the longest running radio program in Alabama.

"I had been whistling all my life but never expected to do it professionally.  I'm not proficient at it like some of the whistlers around who can whistle classical scores bird calls, etc.  I just happened to hit on a little tune that caught on."
